Joining TSANZ
Applying to join the Society requires that you have a proposer and a seconder both of whom are Ordinary (currently financial) members of the Society. If you want help finding a proposer and seconder, contact the TSANZ Office. To become a TSANZ member, go to the home page of the TSANZ website and click on 'join now'.

The quarterly journal, Thoracic Society News is circulated to all members in March, June, September and December. Thoracic Society News includes regular reports from the Australian Lung Foundation and the National Asthma Council, professional information including new or updated position statements, details about awards and fellowships, information on local and international meetings and much, much more. (Contributions from members to Thoracic Society News are always welcome.) TSANZ members also automatically receive Respirology, from the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR).

This month-by-month e-news bulletin is circulated to all members to quickly disseminate information from the branches, notices of awards and fellowships, job opportunties, local and international meetings and professional courses.
TSANZ website
The TSANZ website has information about the Annual Scientific Meeting, laboratory and training accreditation guidelines, position papers, and other matters. Members also have access to a members-only area of the website, which carries a wide range of documents and guidelines of particular interest to members.
TSANZ Annual Scientific Meeting
The Annual Scientific Meeting includes major plenary sessions, special interest group oral and poster sessions, and breakfasts featuring overseas keynote speakers and local experts. This meeting is well attended, attracting on average over 500 delegates.
Links to other professional societies
TSANZ members automatically become members of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR). This membership entitlement includes your own copy of each edition of Respirology and member registration rates at APSR Congress.
As of April 2008, APSR members who are currently full members of the American Thoracic Society (ATS) are eligible for a 15 per cent discount on their ATS standard full member fees.
TSANZ financial members who are also financial members of the Australian & New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science (ANZSRS) currently enjoy a 25 per cent reduction in their TSANZ fees.
TSANZ members are eligible for awards administered by the Society and travel grants which cover the cost of travel to the Annual Scientific Meeting.
