TSANZ membership
Advantages of becoming a TSANZ member
Note: TSANZ financial members who are also financial members of ANZSRS currently enjoy a 25% reduction in their TSANZ fees.
Publications
Thoracic Society News is circulated to all members on a quarterly basis (March/June/September/December). Thoracic News carries a wide variety of information pertinent to our membership: regular reports from the Australian Lung Foundation and the National Asthma Council; current professional information including new or updated position statements; details for awards and fellowships; information on local and international meetings and much more. Contributions from the membership to Thoracic News are welcome.
All TSANZ Members also automatically receive Respirology, the journal of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR).
Email Alert Service
This service is used by the TSANZ Office to quickly and efficiently circulate information of relevance to members. The types of information currently include notices of awards/fellowships, job opportunties, local and international meetings and professional courses.
TSANZ Website
The Society's website contains information about the Annual Scientific Meeting, Laboratory and Training Accreditation Guidelines, Position Papers, and other matters. A password protected page is available to members of the Society only.
TSANZ Annual Scientific Meeting
The TSANZ ASM includes major plenary sessions, Special Interest Group oral and poster sessions, and breakfasts featuring both the overseas keynote speakers and local experts. This meeting is well attended, attracting on average over 500 delegates.
Automatic Membership of the APSR
All TSANZ members automatically become members of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR). Membership entitlement of the APSR includes receipt of the journal Respirology (currently published six times a year) and, of course, members registration rates at the APSR Congress.
Beginning April 2008, APSR members who are currently full members of the American Thoracic Society (ATS) are eligible to receive a 15% discount on their ATS standard full member dues.
TSANZ members are eligible for awards administered by the Society, the Allen & Hanburys Respiratory Research Fellowship and travel grants which cover the cost of travel to the Annual Scientific Meeting.
