Lung Health Research

“Lungs for Life” – a joint initiative by Lung Foundation Australia and TSANZ – was launched from the TSANZ ASM with an appeal for private donations in addition to an increase in government funding.

The funding for respiratory research in Australia is disproportionately low compared to the national health burden it causes. Whilst respiratory disease effects 1 in 10 Australians, it receives only 7.5% of government research funding.

The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and Lung Foundation Australia have joined forces in a new strategic research initiative called Lungs for Life.
