Consultant/Senior Consultant, Thoracic Medicine Cystic Fibrosis
Royal Adelaide Hospital, Adelaide South Australia
Indicative Total Remuneration: $297,690 - $495,382 – Perm F/T – MD2

This role presents an opportunity to contribute to the working of the Royal Adelaide Hospital Adult Cystic Fibrosis Service. Contributing to the specialist medical direction of the service, you will play a key role in the development of the services and programs provided by the team. This will include supporting and facilitating the activities of the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of services to patients with Cystic Fibrosis. You will also take part in the supervision, training and evaluation of staff assigned to the service. You will establish and maintain appropriate practice standards, working and collaborating with other services and agencies to the betterment of services and patient outcomes. Along with providing care for patients in the Thoracic Ward, the Consultative Service and in the community, you will contribute to research into Cystic Fibrosis and allied conditions. The Department of Thoracic Medicine's core aim is to improve respiratory health and reduce the social and economic impact to individuals and the community. The Department aims to be a leader and innovator at local, state, national and international levels in this area. 

You will have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent, and sub-specialty qualification in respiratory medicine, making you registrable with AHPRA and the Medical Board of Australia. With extensive experience in Thoracic Medicine and demonstrated competency in invasive procedures relevant to Thoracic Medicine, you will be proficient in the care of and services for patients with Cystic Fibrosis. Experience in research in relevant fields of Respiratory and Cystic Fibrosis Medicine and quality improvement activities, will hold you in good stead for this role.

Assistant Professor, Pediatric Respirology

The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applicants to apply for the position of Assistant Professor within the Division of Pediatric Respirology in the Department of Pediatrics.

The successful applicant will be offered a tenure track with the University of Alberta and will join five academic pediatric Respirologists who provide a full pediatric respiratory service, including an asthma service, a general pulmonary service, a CF program, a sleep program with a sleep lab, home ventilation program and a lung transplant program. The Stollery Childrens Hospital provide outpatient and inpatient consultation for children with respiratory disease. In addition, The Stollery has an active research program and a sub specialty residency and fellowship training program.

 

This position will comprise approximately 60% clinical service and 40% academic pursuits, with a focus in either teaching or research. Research could be in any area within Pediatric Respiratory Medicine. Contributions to education at the undergraduate, graduate and specialty levels are expected from all faculties.

 

Interested applicants must hold an MD, have completed a fellowship in Pediatric Respirology and be certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Pediatrics).
