2019 - Interstitial Lung Disease: Holistic Care in 2019

At the TSANZSRS ASM 2019, TSANZ held the Interstitial Lung Disease: Holistic Care in 2019 Post-graduate Workshop on Friday, 29th of March 2019. A great success for both the conference and the Society, the one day short course featured presentations from a number of leading experts in the field of ILD.
Presentations from the day also featured sessions from three international speakers: Associate Professor Joyce Lee from the University of Colorado Denver, USA and Professor Gisli Jenkins from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, and Professor Ganesh Raghu from the University of Washington, USA.

Winning Video - Strong Wulyan (Strong Lungs)
The TSANZ are proud to congratulate the authors Elizabeth Salamon, Selena West, Ursula Swan, Sandra Daly for their winning submission. The project was a collaboration with the Royal Perth Hospital Respiratory Medicine Department & the East Metropolitan Health Service Aboriginal Community Health team. We commend their efforts in producing a video that highlights the cultural and socioeconomic challenges in providing quality healthcare and health outcomes for patients in rural regions.
Please note that the videos have a total running time of approximately 15 minutes, and were submitted in the following portions.The videos were judged as one complete submission, according to the award guidelines of the Education & Research Sub-Committee.

2018 - Paediatric Respiratory Short Course
(Lady Cilento Children's Hospital, Brisbane, October 2018)
In October 2018, TSANZ held the Paediatric Respiratory Short Course held at the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital, Brisbane. Presenting topics that explored and examined the various principles which underpin the management, treatment and prevention of lung related diseases in infants and children, the course also featured presentations from two international speakers, Professor Emilio Pizzichini and Professor Anita Simonds.
Prof. Pizzichini, is a previous member of the scientific committee for the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) from 2005-2017 and one of the authors of the GINA asthma guidelines, while Prof. Simonds, is a consultant in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, London and Professor of Respiratory & Sleep Medicine at the National Heart & Lung Institute, Imperial College, London University UK.
