Invitation for public comment – Draft Clinical practice guidelines for the prevention and diagnosis of lung cancer – Screening and early detection

This is an invitation to you to comment on the available screening and early detection content of the draft clinical practice guidelines for the prevention and diagnosis of lung cancer.

Cancer Council Australia is currently in the process of revising the prevention and diagnosis section of the 2004 Clinical Practice Guidelines for Prevention, Diagnosis and Management of Lung Cancer. These draft Guidelines have been prepared by a multi-disciplinary working party based on NHMRC guideline requirements.

The revised guidelines have been developed on Cancer Council Australia’s wiki platform, which enables draft content to be released as soon as possible. The draft content and recommendations regarding chest radiography and CT screening are now available for public consultation. The remaining systematic reviews for other areas are still in development. Please see the list of clinical questions.

Further information regarding this public consultation, including instructions on how to make a comment, can be found here. All comments will be reviewed and considered by the Working Party and/or technical team. If necessary we will contact the individuals to obtain further clarification is required. Where appropriate, modifications will be made to the guidelines content.
